Autumn Evening Sky

Autumn Evening Sky - Posted on 11/07/2007
This was taken a couple of weeks ago. It had been overcast most of the day, but the clouds began to break toward evening, just enough to provide me with a spectacular October sunset.

Sunrises and sunsets are my favorite type of image to shoot. It is what got me out in the field with my first digital camera, happily snapping away, trying to capture nature's beautiful sky paintings, and has been the biggest factor in my choice of outdoor/nature photography as the path my photography style would take. Although I may have expanded my horizons to other areas of nature photography, a beautiful sunrise or sunset will always draw me out of the house, camera in hand, excited at the prospect of yet another unique painting in the sky. -- Kim

This Kim is one of your "finer" sunsets. This would surely compliment that location of a cozy room in Winter with a fireplace and a warm blanket. Nicely done!!

This is beautiful. Many people don't realize it, but sunsets in the northern part of the U.S. last longer than sunsets in the south. I miss the long sunsets. Wonderful image.

Sunrises and sunsets have always been my favorite pictures and this one is rated right up there with the best of them. Love the rich colors and the details in the clouds draw you right in. Excellent work Kim!

Nice complementary colors fire sky. Just a little too much noise in orange colors in my opinion.
